I am Taya, a dedicated addiction therapist and professional counsellor with a Master of Counselling from Monash University, Australia. As a registered clinical member of the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC), I am currently pursuing registration with the Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling (APSAC).

I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients, employing a collaborative approach to help them achieve their goals. My practice is rooted in evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Having extensive experience working with clients facing substance dependency in correctional settings, I have led drug intervention group therapy for mandated individuals, equipping them with essential skills to manage daily challenges effectively.

Transitioning from a correctional setting to private practice has allowed me to deepen my focus on interpersonal trauma and relationship counselling. In my private practice, I work on the complexities of recovery from romantic relationships, helping clients understand how childhood experiences shape their adult relationships. I provide relationship coaching to empower individuals as they navigate the challenges of love and intimacy, fostering healthier connections. By exploring the impact of past relationships, I guide my clients toward healing and personal growth, equipping them with the tools to build fulfilling and resilient partnerships. This emphasis on interpersonal dynamics enriches my therapeutic practice, allowing me to support clients in overcoming relational challenges and achieving meaningful change.

My therapeutic focus includes:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress and burnout
  • Emotional regulation
  • Interpersonal issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Life transitions
  • Addictions
  • Relationship counselling
  • Interpersonal trauma

I am particularly passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate the complexities of life transitions. I believe in the power of active listening to provide clients with new perspectives and empower them to make informed decisions. Committed to my professional growth, I regularly engage in ongoing development to enhance the quality of my practice.
